Prayer of Obedience and Trust

Dear Friends,
During the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, when I was struggling with feelings of fear, anxiety and worry, I composed this prayer and repeated it continually as I commuted to work each day.

I share this prayer with you in the hope that it may be helpful to you and secure for you and your loved ones "a future full of hope" (Jer. 29:11).

Father, in the name of Jesus, despite the way I feel, I choose to rejoice, praise and thank You (cf.I.Thess.5:16-18) in obedience to Your Word; because You have promised to make all things work together unto good for those who love You (cf. Rm. 8:28) and I trust You to do that for me.
